But it seems like Western people do that a lot with Asian cultures. "Oh, this thing that you see as super-dystopian is actually part of their culture, and you shouldn't judge" and then it turns out no, the powerful are just forcing it on the people there using tactics they can't quite manage here.

My joke that kills but only makes sense only in a Korean/English conversation is: "Korean AI slop should be called AI goo. Aigoo!" (Aigoo is the sound Korean old people make when something annoys them. I know this sounds like a lie but I promise this is funny in some contexts.)
