Most of our food is industrial, flavorless, and wildly unhealthy. It is also a perfect representation of the wealth distribution in our country: Wealthy people get wonderfully delicious, freshly prepared meals while poor people get highly processed, sodium-laden food that gives you heart disease.

Produce is the issue. Europe benefits from having smaller countries & stricter food regulations. America has a challenge in having to feed a large population, so mass production, which needs fast turnover. Then the issue is transportation over long distances. Preservatives are inevitable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As an American, I had incredible food in Scotland, Spain, Italy and France but while I absolutely adored Switzerland, the food there was good *quality* but not particularly good (and super expensive). The best thing about getting to Milan was the food got 4x better at like 1/4 the price.
