Sometimes, I want to press pause on my life until a particularly bad day or week passes. It isn't alien, or weird, to admit that. And I wish I'd had the clarity and language to say that without ending up on someone's intake list.

I really wish, culturally, we could embrace having these types of conversations and access to mental Healthcare with no bullshit or shame or embarrassment. Wishing not to hurt is a very, very human experience we should all be able to understand and relate to. And yet.

But asking people in crisis to make a distinction like that and to examine word choice isn't reasonable, so we assume the worst and hope for far better. But the reason I talk about my own MH is until we can HAVE the language for these concepts, we're stuck with archaic and imperfect methods.
