Just to spell this out explicitly: I already know my life is pretty good. I have a supportive family, I live in a state where trans people are mostly protected. I have not been left entirely untouched by the anti-trans backslide, but on the whole I've got a good life and I feel blessed.
Show PostI have frequently had people tell me to use men's bathrooms and not worry because no one will know, and (less often) suggest that I am in no danger because I pass so none of the measures targeting trans people are really about me. I took the OP as a particularly dramatic example of that impulse.
Show PostI absolutely endorse it as a way another trans person is feeling that also resonated with me!
Show Post"You can just deny yourself and live in fear of being outed to survive in a culture that despises your existence." "You can just accept any children like you will live and die in the closet." "You can just disappear and stop bothering us forever. We are very allies."
Show PostI can confirm I'd my care ended because I spoke out about my assesment. They tried accusing me of libel and told me they would end my treatment if I didn't delete my Twitter thread, then when I got my solicitor involved their tune changed and they then blamed it on a breakdown of relationship.
