I tried, they sent me off to the psychiatric emergency(?) & the guy there gave me a lecture on how no amount of therapy or medicine will ultimately help & I should read Camus. I've kinda given ups on getting help after that

Fwiw, I'm coming at this from the opposite direction, but I made my own changes so I could exist happily in my own company, everyone else be damned. I struggle with feeling like I am desirable to others often, still have to contend with bigots, but I am me now and don't hate me all the time anymore.

In 2021, I sued the State of Illinois. I was sick of being misgendered and deadnamed by judges. I was sick of judges ordering me to present as male in their courtrooms. I was sick of judges demanding I show them my genitals. I was sick of clerks calling cases by my deadname and outing me in court.
