Cost-per-developer analytics is useful post-hoc. The expensive lesson is that most orgs model pre-deployment with a per-seat figure instead of building the actual usage curve: average daily invocations x average tokens per invocation x headcount. Analytics confirms the miss; the model prevents it.

Worth separating rate-card value from deployed value: a TerminalBench score is one signal, but cost per successful task also moves with retries, token shape, and the agent harness. A 2–4 point gap can vanish—or matter—there.
