well, it depends, that needs a little extra context. there are some cases where a particular payment method can mean *less* fees (e.g. paying with cash in person means no payment processor involved, bank transfer can cost less than credit card), and it's possible for that to still be legitimate.
Show Posthowever, if you're being directed to use a peer to peer payment platform intended for personal (not business) use or select an option like "friends or family" that marks a transaction as not for business use, then it's likely the artist is trying to skirt around income reporting laws, risking a ban
