It's definitely related to me not coping well with sudden change (™️) + unclear waiting times (thanks autism) but, and while I think there's a lot of good intent, the whole sharing fics on shared files + drives as open access makes me a little nervous -

Everyone's worried about losing access to 'their content'. We are more than that. We are people who want to know that what we're making is appreciated, and you might say 'but sharing it like this does that!' but not if we can't see it. And that's not even with the AI issues. Please, just don't.

It's directly taking us OUT of the picture and treating our work like some kind of merchandise you deserve access to. We authors have been talking about falling engagement for ages, and this is certainly not pushing it our way.

Actually, after giving it much thought and sitting with my discomfort: I have not consented for my work to be hosted and shared by other people in google drives/documents. If you see my work being shared, please ask the poster to remove it or let me know. This behaviour is not helping authors.
