For real. Like I know those tunes aren’t “hip”, but for godsakes the reason everyone knows them is because all the masters played them. And more importantly at some point you figure out if a tune sounds boring or uninspired, it’s the folks playing it, not the tune.

I've been thinking about this in the last few days. Its genius is in perfectly capturing the innocent superficiality of all children's perceptions as they hear it as optimistic, and the profound melancholy of all adults perceiving EXACTLY THE SAME WORDS as deeply sad.
