It shouldn't do. EU rules said that once VAT was added to energy costs, it couldn't be reduced or removed. If it hadn't been added in the first place, no problem. Even if we do have to add it, the EU has schemes for sharing spare energy at low cost between members, so that might offset VAT a bit.
