i saw a story where one manager who hadn't been getting applicants for a React framework job for months decided to audit their own process by inputting his own CV and then checked their portal turns out HR put in the requirements as "React.js" and "React" didn't qualify so all CVs were binned

YES. it takes an hour at the very least to apply to any job, and add on time for trying to figure out how to get yr resume past the ai screening (who knows what the rules are! nobody will tell you and it differs at every place)

one of the insane things is just how slow and bureaucratic the hiring process is now. You have to apply thru one of hundreds of systems, none of which save your information, reinput your resume into form fields that are summarily dismissed by a computer which doesn't tell you why or if it did

Hehe well why do you guys complain. When voodoo economics for 49+ years de industrialized everything. And embedded corruption to a point its systemic. Meanwhile rest of the world moved on. You can only ‘shuffle paper’,scam via ‘market’ casino for so long. Until u cant. In country of 340+mil lol.

Literally know tons of people with comp sci and biotech degrees but even with those “practical” degrees it can be hard to find work
