We have so little control over stuff once it’s posted. The download button has always been there. I think it’s fair to expect people to not repost to another site but the downloaded files once they’re on someone’s computer that’s where they are.

i also think my profile note is very open on consent to do anything with the work i have up there & i do think i have something like if you do recreate something based of the work please try not to post it elsewhere, and but that's because i want it on ao3 because it was unlikely to die RIP.

that's very close to where i circle back to, and i do think it's because of what i understood the purpose of ao3 to be. that's why I've for the most part stuck by only one rule which was once it's goes up on ao3 it doesn't come off. i've had to live with stucky and destiel for years and years.
