a major reason i dont do daily news anymore, and by and large tnn doesnt, is that its really hard to do daily news in a way that isnt slop, fear-mongering drivel, or just repetitive nonsense. that said i also recognize that daily stuff is what sticks in peoples mind more.

dunno really what the answer to this thought is. i personally dont think we have a good daily or near-daily queer news outlet, but im also not really sure that such a thing can be done well? like im of the view that daily news probably isnt too helpful and causes more panic than good.

at the same time, its also just what people think of first when they think of news outlets, and while ill always prefer deep-dive investigative reports, i do wonder what a good solution might look like and how it might look to do something like that effectively.

i do investigative journalism best i think. i did daily news for over a year when i worked with q nation, and ill be frank in that in spite of how much effort i put into it, i couldnt recollect information about like, 99% of what ive written there. it all blends together for me.

its a weird thing. i think it tends to be lower quality and cause more harm than good, but it also in general is whats way more popular and what people default to, which makes it 10x harder to get comparable recognition as an investigative outlet. dunno. just kinda spilling thoughts here.
