My form class organised a shared morning tea without telling me for Friday, because I've some thy for them a few times. They made me the loveliest of cards with amazingly thoughtful comments. I'm still a little bit on a cloud.

I find the “regular, hard working New Zealander” line a bit uncomfortable…..feels like it’s excluding those who can’t/aren’t working for whatever reason. (Yes I’m sure it was a well intended comment but it does tend to reinforce the idea that work/productivity = worth)

Someone knocked on the door and I thought fucking trick or treaters but it was my colleague bringing me half price sausages from our favourite butcher 🌭

So our next adventure is council installed water meters, and have sent us a cheery letter saying we used 189,000 litres in 46 days. Had the plumbers for 2 hours yesterday who couldn’t find a leak. Mr R spent 5 hours digging today and we are no closer to finding the problem.
