the disruptive and unethical aspects of it can't be set aside either. overall i'm not an expert on either the technical or financial aspects of AI. neither is zitron but he doesn't act like it. he's been saying it's on the verge of total collapse or stagnation for years now.

for sure. the AI buildout is the largest/fastest infrastructure buildout in American history and it's hard for me to imagine the eventual economic benefits can possibly support that; a lot of people compare this to the internet or railroad booms and I think that's probably accurate

The problem is this cuts both ways. There's a lot of stuff being taken at face value that absolutely should not be about the AI sector, and Zitron's really the only person not doing that. People are unable to sort their tender bruised feelings from the facts, and it's a problem.
