wow that was a wild ride from "ya ok this might be the thing" to "it's kinda like a moat that's not a moat" sometimes i think this problem may actually require ppl and orgs to care about norms deeply (not that systems angles are bad at all!!! i';m just not sure they can be sufficient alone.)

if the license is still open and the employees can all individually access the code like i guess i'm not sure how this gate is operationalized do individuals all have to register to access these projects now? can't be entirely that if open source so... it's kinda like a moat that's not a moat
