The plans themselves are pointless, stupid and harmful. They actively block people from integrating into British society, the very thing we say we want. But the retrospective application is damnable on its own terms. The mark of a fundamentally untrustworthy country.
Show PostI think it sounds more like Achilles and the Tortoise. Ever closer but never quite there. If they want Canada (and they should - it has everything Europe needs but doesn't have) then they should just grab them.

Show Post"Some people cannot afford/don't have the space for extra groceries..." A close runner-up. The vast majority of people CAN keep a few provisions. Doing so will plainly reduce panic and make life easier for gov't AND those who can't afford to, during an emergency. In short, grow up.
Show Post"Stockpiling was illegal during the war..." One of the weakest (and, for some reasone, most repeated) arguments against taking basic steps to prepare for a short disruption, like losing power for a couple of days. Keeping a wind up torch and some bottled water is not "stockpiling" ffs.
