Turfing Rath out of the party publicly is not enough. What about the rest of this party? Jean - Eastern slopes, Amery - Law, Loewen - wildlife, Nixon - asshole, Anderson - MAGA collaborator. There is nothing to salvage that hasn't been tainted.

If she wants to convince us that she is kicking out the separatists, and actually does so, there won't be very much UCP party left over. They already kicked out all the former PC's, without the seppies what's left?

Danielle Smith does not believe in democracy at any level. It should not surprise us that she would apparently violate her own party's rules to throw out a member in good standing. He may be a grifter and a scumbag, but there are plenty of those remaining in the UCP.
