In her hospital room listening to her snore. Grateful she’s getting some sleep after two highly agitated, fearful nights. Some lovely, fun moments today. Appreciate every last one of them. I always knew this 4’7” 88lb woman was not genuinely immortal. But boy, it seemed like she was for so long.

In hospital today with my 97-yr-old MIL. She’s had a tough couple of weeks. After all this time taking care of herself and getting by without so much as a cane, she’s finding herself weighed down by confusion and unsteadiness. “Getting old,” she says after a test run on a walker, “is getting old.”
