The problem now is not just how to deal with AI, but how to deal with AI when your existing model of control is cruel-to-indifferent, which was fine for the weirdos, but now will impact white boys with money.

“How can these people revel in their ignorance?!?!?” They don’t. They are revelling in the beautiful response it gets. Ok, that’s not ALL of it. Emotionally, they are also asserting that they are not obliged to GAF about your baseline, and that’s fun too.

The number of people who get REALLY MAD when someone looks at someone famous and says “yeah, I have no idea who that is, and don’t care” is the number one reason that people are going to continue saying things like that.

I’m pretty sure it’s the latter, and I’m equally sure that this is the group that AI is going to kick down the stairs onto broken glass, and the results will be bad for everyone.

And that’s the bit I’m watching, because while AI may lower the bar, it doesn’t actually make anyone CARE any more than they did. It manifests the question of whether the value was in the technical skills, or in the mindset that LEAD to the technical skills.
