Context: Me summer 2018 vs Today-ish (same smile 😆)! Lil’ lady on the left is still trying to pick a uni major & has NO IDEA one elective course is about to change everything 😎 Like I always loved this stuff, but whaddya mean I can career-ify it?! 😮 (Tag me next time you say “hi” to the fly! 😜)

🌈 Check out the rainbow leaf beetle! Though widely distributed across Europe, this insect is seldom seen. Growing ~0.5 in (1.3 cm) in size, it feeds on plants including ivy, roses, & thyme. This beetle inhabits montane forests at elevations of ~1970 ft (600 m). Photo: Slimguy, Wikimedia Commons

Quick time lapse of me as a volunteer, digitizing specimens in the HKU Herbarium earlier this year. 🌱 Will post more NatHist /HK Bio Museum stuff here in the future! In the meantime, any recommendations for things to listen to while working? Also advice on avoiding time lapse "flickering"?

Fun Easter Egg for your next HKBM trip!🐣 See that big insect case when you enter? Look toward the bottom left, near glass sticker, between the stick insect legs for a green fly 🪰 Notice the Col. R. Wang from 3-X-2018 label? Yeah, that’s one I caught & pinned for my 1st ever insect collection. 🥹

Late to this post but still love to see it! ❤️ Still remember not long ago when the collections were only open to E&B students, now everyone gets the chance to enjoy them! 🥰 Here's to another great year at the HKBM full of exploration, curation and education! 🥂
